One of the two low-pressure areas in Philippine territory intensified into a tropical depression Saturday afternoon. It was codenamed “Goring."
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said "Goring" was estimated at 425 km north-northeast of Basco, Batanes, as of 2 p.m.
