House moving to approve FOI bill


The House of Representatives, viewed by many as a major stumbling block for the passage of the Freedom of Information (FOI) bill in the past, looks to push for its approval even without MalacaƱang’s imprimatur.



Key members of the administration-backed majority bloc said they will strongly support Speaker Feliciano Belmonte Jr.’s move to make the FOI measure part of the legislative priorities of the second regular session of the 16th Congress.
