Shortage of Taxis in Manila Airports

There is always a shortage of taxi cabs in all the airports in Manila particularly in NAIA Terminal 3. Regular taxi cabs are not allowed to enter the arrival area because they would prioritize yellow airport taxi that is far more expensive than the regular ones.

Other transport providers would ask as much as 900 to 1,000 from the airport to Cubao. Passengers have to go up to the departure area and wait for soon-to-be vacant ones that were vacated by departing passengers.

Travel should be convenient and hassle free but in Manila, hell starts at the airport as one would have to hurdle all the long lines waiting for a taxi to arrive. The airport authorities must do something about this. Such A BIG INCONVENIENCE for us locals and moreso for foreign tourists. THIS SET UP IS NOT TOURIST-FRIENDLY. There should be no monopoly of transport at the airports!

The picture above was taken last Sunday night, Nov. 18, 2012 at around 11PM in NAIA Terminal 3. Arriving passengers queueing in long lines just to wait for a taxi to arrive.
