From friends to enemies: Floyd, 50 Cent locked in Twitter war


MANILA, Philippines – The conflict between former friends Floyd Mayweather Jr. and 50 Cent took an ugly turn when the two engaged in a bitter word war in social networking site Twitter.


The “Twitter war” began when 50 Cent announced the other day that he has already left “The Money Team”, an outfit he established with Mayweather aimed at promoting boxing fights.

The promotion has signed several boxers including featherweight champion Yuriorkis Gamboa, Australia's Dib and super middleweight boxer Andre Dirrell.

"TMT (The Money Team) IS OVER. The Money team is no longer a team. So it's SMS Promotions. That's it. That's all," 50 Cent said.

“SMS” is the name of the rapper’s headphone product line.

“I move the fighters to SMS Promotions 'cause the other half of the money team didn't put up [their] MONEY$," said 50 Cent (Curtis Jackson in real life).
