Repatriation of OFWs in Saudi Crash to be Delayed


The repatriation of remains of four Filipino workers killed in a road crash in Saudi Arabia may take a while, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) said on Thursday.



“Naga-undergo pa ho ng investigation dahil aksidente po yung. Pagkatapos ng investigation maari na pong maiuwi yung mga remains,” OWWA Administrator Carmelita Dimzon told dzMM.

Dimzon explained that compared to natural death, investigations on deaths resulting to accidents really takes more time to finish.

“Aksidente po yun. Mahaba-haba ang hihintayin natin. Maiksi na po yung one month,” Dimzon said.

On Friday, Jorwin Pagatpatan and Imm Paredes, who both worked as tea boys, and messengers David Sales and Crisente Sayod, died when the 15-seater van they were riding figured in an accident near Damman in Saudi Arabia.
