Bagyong Pablo Latest PAGASA Updates (December 3, 2012)


At 11:00 p.m. today, 03 December 2012, Typhoon "PABLO" was located based on satellite and surface data at 200 Southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur (7.5°N, 128.0°E).


At 8:00 p.m. today, 03 December 2012, Typhoon "PABLO" was located based on satellite and surface data at 270 Southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur (7.4°N, 128.8°E).

At 4:00 p.m. today, the eye of Typhoon "PABLO" was located based on satellite and surface data at 390 km Southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao Del Sur (07.1 °N, 129.9 °E) with maximum sustained winds of 175 kph and gustiness of up to 210 kph. It is forecast to move West at 26 kph.

"Typhoon 'Pablo' has maintained its strength and is now heading towards Surigao Provinces," the state weather bureau Pagasa said in its 11 a.m. update Monday.

Pablo was spotted 550 kilometers southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur 10 a.m. Monday, with maximum sustained winds of 175 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 210 kph, Pagasa added.

The typhoon is expected to make landfall Tuesday and leave the Philippine area of responsibility Thursday.

"Residents living in low lying and mountainous areas under public storm warning signal #2 and #1 are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides," Pagasa said.

Those living in coastal areas under public storm warning signal #3 and #2 have also been alerted against big waves or storm surges generated by Pablo..
