The Philippine High School for the Arts (PHSA) is currently accepting scholarship applications for secondary school students in 2013.
The PHSA Scholarship Program is intended to ensure continuing source of artists of excellence and leaders in the preservation and promotion of Filipino artistic and cultural traditions. PHSA conducts screening of applicants annually to search for artistically talented children who will be trained in the following fields:
- ballet and folk dance
- creative writing
- music
- theater
- visual arts
2013 PHSA Scholarship qualifications/requirements
- Filipino citizen
- outstanding ability in dance, music, creative writing, theater and visual arts
- graduating students of this school year 2012-2013
- proficient in oral and written Filipino and English
- good health condition
- willing to study in boarding school
- determined to pursue a college degree in fine arts of architecture, music, arts, dance, theater, journalism or related courses
- not more than 14 years old
Successful applicants will be awarded with free tuition, textbooks, board and lodging, modest monthly stipend, individual classes with master teachers and chance to represent the country in international competitions, art festivals and exchange programs.
