Letran outlasts San Beda in Game Two, forces rubber match for NCAA championship


The Letran Knights banked on some timely baskets from Jonathan Belorio and Kevin Alas as they defeated San Beda, 64-55, in Game Two of the NCAA finals Saturday at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum to send their title series to a deciding Game Three.


“When we reviewed the first game, dikit lang eh. So madami kaming ginawang tama, very minor na lang ang adjustments, like matchup. Nilaro lang namin ang tendency ni Ola,” said Letran coach Louie Alas.

The win snapped San Beda’s 15-game winning run against the Knights, which dates back to the second round of eliminations in 2007.

“This win means a lot. We’re very happy,” said Alas, who said his still needs to win one more game to be truly happy.
