Marikina River tops 19 meters, forced evacuation now in force (VIDEO)


Marikina local authorities started the forced evacuation for their residents as of 6:40 a.m., specially to those living in critical areas. As the Marikina river already beyond the critical level of 18 meters.

MMDA said, "the river's level has reached 19.1 meters above sea level"

The water level is being measured by the following.

First Alarm - 15 meters above sea level
Second Alarm - 16 meters above sea level
Third Alarm - 17 meters above sea level
Critical Level - 18 meters above sea level

Meanwhile, local disaster management office released the list of evacuation centers to the affected Marikina residents:

Bulelak Gym - 162 families/816 persons
Concepcion Integrated School - 167 families/835 persons
Concepcion Elementary School - 12 families/72 persons
H. Bautista Elementary School - 463 families/2,337 persons
Malanday Elementary School - 401 families/2,285 persons
Sta. Elena Chapel (Lambak) - 5 families/25 persons
Nangka Elementary School - 110 families/576 persons
Filipinas Village Gym - 84 families/581 persons
Sampaguita Gym- 95 families/491 persons
