Falling Star Cottage Built on Top of the University of California – Photos and Video

A cottage known as the “Falling Star” was built on top of the University of California in San Diego.

Korean artist Do Ho Suh designed the cottage as the culmination of his seven years of work. It is situated on the edge of the seven-floor Engineering building of the said university.

The project is supported exclusively by private donations to the Stuart Collection including a $90,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.

Falling Star was built as a three-quarter size replica of a house found in Providence, Rhode Island where the artist studied painting. When it was all done, it was lifted by the largest crane in America to be mounted on top.

The cottage was opened to the public on June 7, 2012 furnished with home accessories and a garden outside which amazed visitors of its details and the views surrounding it.
