Two UNTV shows make it to the Gandingan 2011 Awards

UNTV is proud to have two of its programs to be given recognition by Gandingan 2011: The 5th UPLB Isko’t Iska’s Broadcast Choice Awards – the first award-giving body in the field of broadcasting in the University of the Philippines System.

Bread N Butter got the Best Livelihood Oriented Program, while Ating Alamin was bestowed Best Livelihood Oriented Program Host or the Gandingan ng Kabuhayan.

In its two years of broadcast, Bread N Butter (or BNB) has tested the waters, so to speak, and is continuing to create its niche in the broadcast industry as a program to reckon with in terms of promoting self reliance and discipline among its viewers who are thinking of beginning, developing and maintaining small scale businesses.

Ating Alamin, on the other hand, is already an institution and has gained its own following in the field of agriculture and agri-products. The program serves as a guide to the viewers in starting backyard livelihood projects.

Both programs are set to championing the welfare of the masses as they feature success stories that the viewers can relate with and emulate.

Other UNTV programs and hosts who have made it as finalists for the Gandingan Awards were: Best Magazine Program, Good Morning, Kuya!; Best Morning Show, Good Morning Kuya; Best Morning Show Hosts, Good Morning Kuya Hosts;

Best Investigative Program, Bitag; Best Development-Oriented Talk Show, Get it Straight with Daniel Razon; Best Development-Oriented Talk Show Host, Daniel Razon (Get it Straight with Daniel Razon); Best Public Service Program Host, Daniel Razon (Munting Pangarap); and, Most Development-Oriented TV Station, UNTV 37.

Gandingan 2011 is an awarding ceremony which challenges broadcasters to enhance their programs to contribute to the country’s development. Winners are decided through votes of the UPLB undergraduate students.

The awarding ceremony was held at the DL Umali Hall in UP Los Banos on February 12, 2011. -
