JOBS available to Filipino workers in Qatar will go down this year but employment opportunities will peak again next year, according to the Philippine Overseas Labor Office. The POLO briefed mediamen who accompanied Sen. Jinggoy Estrada in his trip to Qatar.
Arturo Sodusta, labor attaché to Qatar, noted that last year, some 24,000 Filipino skilled workers lost their jobs. He expects 10,000 to 12,000 more OFWs to lose their jobs this year with the completion of many of the major construction projects in Qatar.[ FULL STORY ]
