THE Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Friday announced that the agency and the 17 mayors of Metro Manila agreed to embark on an extensive short, medium and long term physical redevelopment of the metropolis through an urban renewal program that aims to transform the region into a world-class livable region by 2016.
During the Metro Manila Council meeting in MalacaƱang on Thursday, the 17 mayors and other voting members of the council initially agreed to form a committee, with the MMDA as the lead agency, to formulate a six-year Urban Renewal Master Plan for Metro Manila.
