On the road in a hostile environment against one of the best teams in the Western Conference, the Thunder always wants to put itself in a position to close out a win in the final minutes. Against the Dallas Mavericks, Head Coach Scott Brooks’ squad did exactly that, but made a few mental and physical mistakes and couldn’t quite make enough plays down the stretch to come away victorious, falling 119-115.
With the game tied at 108-108 with 2:07 remaining after a tough fadeaway jumper by Russell Westbrook, the Thunder gave up a 6-0 run for the Mavericks. Chandler Parsons knocked down two free throws, then after Westbrook missed a jumper and Enes Kanter’s shot at the rim was blocked, Parsons drove in for a runner.
