At least 367 dead after quake in China's Yunnan province


At least 367 people have been killed and 1,800 injured in the recently earthquake struck with a magnitude of 6.5 in Yunnan Province, Southwestern China.


Because of heavy earthquake, some of the building fell, including schools and establishment and also destroyed thousands of houses and buried roads under landslides.

According to the US Geological Survey, the said magnitude 6.5 earthquake struck with a depth of 1.6 KM. The quake is the strongest to hit Yunnan in 14 years. Tremors were felt in Kunming, capital of the province, 300 kilometers from Zhaotong.

And also the authorites are afraid that it might be increase the number of dead as well as the continuing rescue operations.

Remember in 2008 was also an earthquake shook Sichuan, China that killed 70,000 people.
