June 24 Monday declares as a special non-working holiday in the city of Manila, the Palace said Monday.

Executive Secretary Jojo Ochoa, on behalf of President Benigno Aquino III, proclaims June 24 as a holiday exclusively in the city of Manila issued the declaration in Proclamation No. 604, which recognizes the capital city's 442nd Foundation Day of City of Manila.

"It is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of Manila be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies," the proclamation said.

DECLARING MONDAY, 24 JUNE 2013, AS A SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE CITY OF MANILA

WHEREAS, Monday, 24 June 2013 marks the 442nd Foundation Day anniversary of the City of Manila;

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of Manila be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, PAQUITO N. OCHOA JR., Executive Secretary, by authority of His Excellency, BENIGNO S. AQUINO III, do hereby declare Monday, 24 June 2013, as a special (non-working) day in the City of Manila.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
