The man at age 70 in Saudi Arabia married a 15-year-old girl and paid a large dowry to the girl's parents worth $20,000. The news became open to the public when the man complained to a local official after his new wife left him.

According to CNN, they interviewed the man and said that he paid a dowry to the parents of the 15-year old girl. The man refused to reveal his name.
The man told to CNN, "She is not 15 as everybody claims," then added, "She's 25 years old and she's mature enough to make her own decisions... I was fooled by the girl's family."
According to Human Rights Commission workers that they believe there was a fight between the girl and the man, and she forced to go back to her family.

Dr. Suhaila Zein al-Abedin of the Saudi National Association for Human Rights believes that the 15-year-old girl was a victim of marriage selling.
He said, "When you consider the very large difference in age, it looks more like this was not a marriage, but like the girl was sold," then added, "The girl's parents need to be held responsible for this."
Meanwhile, some groups like HRC, advocate for selling marriage, proposed a court consent to anyone who wants to get married under 18-years old.
