PBA: Caguioa’s minutes limited because of ankle woes, says Ginebra coach


Fans have been wondering why reigning PBA Most Valuable Player Mark Caguioa has played limited minutes for the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel Kings, particularly in the fourth quarter, in the past few games.

Barangay Ginebra coach Siot Tanquingcen disclosed the reason to InterAKTV.

“Mark Caguioa sprained his ankle two games back, but he’s ok now,” Tanquingcen wrote in a text message.

The coach, though, refused to answer if he could guarantee more minutes for Caguioa in the Kings’ final game of the elimination round, a clash against current tournament-leaders Talk ‘N Text.

Caguioa had been used sparingly in the fourth quarter in his team’s last two games, including the team’s latest setback against lowly Barako Bull.
