POEA Opens Online Balik-Manggagawa Appointment System


The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration has opened an Internet-based facility that allows all vacationing overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) or Balik Manggagawa (BM) to set an appointment for the processing of their overseas employment certificates.

OFWs who choose to use online appointment system can get their exit clearances on specific date and time at POEA counters located in its main office in Mandaluyong City, Duty Free Philippines in ParaƱaque City and SM Manila.

The usual way of getting OEC thru walk-ins is still there, but Cacdac encourages using online appointment service which is free and is available at bmappointment.poea.gov.ph.

Documentary Requirements for Online and Walk-in processing of OEC

1) Passport valid for 6 months from time of departure;
2) Valid working visa/work permit:
3) Proof of employment such as certificate of employment, company ID, pay slip, and other
equivalent document.

Fees
  • Returning workers have to pay Php100 for POEA processing fee;
  • US$25 or its peso equivalent for OWWA contribution on a per contract coverage;
  • Php1,200 for one year Philhealth coverage;
  • Minimum of Php100 contribution to Pag-ibig Fund,
OFW exit clearance or OEC can also be processed at the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) nearest their jobsite before their departure to the Philippines, or at the POEA regional offices while they are in their respective provinces.
