You can make mosquito trap by using a waste plastic bottle. Another way to reduce the mosquito population around your home is to make several mosquito traps, and place them in areas where you have seen mosquitoes.
Here's a guide on how you can make your very own Mosquito Trap.
Materials Needed:
- 2000ml (2 liter) bottle
- 50 gram (brown sugar)
- 1 gram yeast
- Thermometer
- Measure cup
- Knife
- Black paper
Preparation Method:
- Cut a plastic bottle in half, keep both parts. Can be soft drink
- bottle.
- Take the lower portion of the bottle. Dissolve the brown sugar in hot water. Let it cool down to ~70 deg F (room temperature).
- Add the yeast. Carbon dioxide will be formed and will attract the
- mosquitoes.
- Cover the bottle with a dark wrap and insert in the top portion upside down like a funnel. Place it in a corner in your house.
- In 2 weeks you will be surprised by the number of mosquitoes killed. You'll have to replace the sugar water + yeast solution every 2 weeks.
