How to Build a Homemade Mosquito Trap (VIDEO)


You can make mosquito trap by using a waste plastic bottle. Another way to reduce the mosquito population around your home is to make several mosquito traps, and place them in areas where you have seen mosquitoes.


Here's a guide on how you can make your very own Mosquito Trap.

Materials Needed:
  • 2000ml (2 liter) bottle
  • 50 gram (brown sugar)
  • 1 gram yeast
  • Thermometer
  • Measure cup
  • Knife
  • Black paper

Preparation Method:
  1. Cut a plastic bottle in half, keep both parts. Can be soft drink
  2. bottle.
  3. Take the lower portion of the bottle. Dissolve the brown sugar in hot water. Let it cool down to ~70 deg F (room temperature).
  4. Add the yeast. Carbon dioxide will be formed and will attract the
  5. mosquitoes.
  6. Cover the bottle with a dark wrap and insert in the top portion upside down like a funnel. Place it in a corner in your house.
  7. In 2 weeks you will be surprised by the number of mosquitoes killed. You'll have to replace the sugar water + yeast solution every 2 weeks.
