Aguirre refuses Miriam’s brain, heart and face

HANKS, but no thanks. Vitaliano Aguirre, formerly a private prosecutor for the House prosecution panel, on Wednesday rejected Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago’s offer to donate one or more of her organs to him.

When asked which of her organs he will not accept, Aguirre promptly replied, “brain, heart and face.”

His answer was in response to Santiago’s willingness to donate her organs to him when she dies.

Aguirre and Santiago had a heated confrontation late last month inside the impeachment court when he covered his ears as she berated the prosecution panel.

Aguirre welcomed the court’s decision, saying that it served as a slap to Santiago’s face.

“Isang malaking sampal ‘yan kay Sen. Santiago, kasi gustong-gusto niya akong ipakulong, pero hindi ako pinarusahan ng impeachment court dahil alam ng mga senador na justifiable naman ang aking ginawa [It’s a big slap to Sen. Santiago because she really wanted me to be jailed, but I was not punished by the impeachment court because the senators knew that my act was justifiable],” he said during a radio interview.
