MANILA – Investigators looking into the causes of Saturday’s plane crash in Paranaque are scratching their heads over some of the initial findings, particularly the absence of fuel in what remains of the aircraft, officials said Sunday.
This developed as the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) announced that they had taken custody of the Beechcraft “Queen Air,” eight-seater plane’s engines from the National Police (PNP) and were set to start formal investigations to determine why the engines failed, causing RP-C824 to crash into a heavily populated subdivision.
“The engines are severely charred and we wonder if investigators would be able to find out whether there was fuel contamination or fuel starvation that caused the engines to quit in mid-air,” CAPP director general Ramon S. Gutierrez said.
