2 DEAD, 23 INJURED, SEVERAL OF THEM KIDS, IN ZAMBOANGA CITY BOMBING


ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines (4TH UPDATE: 1:05 a.m.) – Two people have died, and the number of the injured has climbed from 18 to 23, in the bomb explosion that rocked Zamboanga City at around 9:30 p.m. Sunday, Mayor Celso Lobregat said.


One of the fatalities was declared dead on arrival at the Ciudad Medical Zamboanga; the second fatallity's body was retrieved by Explosives Ordnance Demolition personnel sifting through the debris of the blast site.

City Health Officer Rodel Agbulos said five of the victims, including a child, were rushed to the Ciudad Medical Zamboanga (CMZ), six to the Zamboanga Brent Hospital (ZBH) and 12 to the government-run Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC).


Among the six victims sent to ZBH is a two-year-old girl, whose mother was rushed to the ZCMC.
