According to travel website The Guide to Sleeping in Airports, NAIA tops the 2011 list of the world’s least favorite when it comes to safety concerns, comfort, and facilities.
Manila’s NAIA Terminal 1 also topped the list for Asia’s worst in 2010.
“Forget about sleeping in this airport! You will not want to even close your eyes here! Bribery and theft exists,” the travel site said, alongside contributed photos of the airport.
“Airport taxes are collected, but the money does not seem to go towards the betterment of the airport,” it added.
The site said poll results are determined by the following: “site visitor votes; reviews submitted to the site over the past year; and information provided by airports regarding their facilities.”
Users cited different concerns such as safety, airport staff attitude, the availability of comfortable seating, the state of the facilities, and poor access for people with long layovers.
