PhilHealth Bares Higher Premiums for Members

PHILHEALTH: Pharmaceutical companies to Give As much as 30-80% discount
"Sapat na ang bayad ng PhilHealth." This was the message of PhilHealth President Eduardo Banzon as the government health agency formally entered into an agreement with 11 leading pharmaceutical companies to greatly reduce the cost of drugs for catastrophic illnesses under the PhilHealth Z benefit package.

Aggressive Pre-Diabetes Approach Needed, say Researchers
People with “pre-diabetes” have higher than normal blood sugar which has not yet reached diabetic levels.
A US study, published in the Lancet, showed restoring normal sugar levels more than halved the numbers going on to Type 2 diabetes.
Experts said the findings were clinically important.

PhilHealth Defers Plan to Hike Premium Contribution of OFWs
Bowing to public pressure, the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) has deferred the plan to increase the premium contribution of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).
PhilHealth president and chief executive officer Eduardo Banzon said under Circular No. 07, series of 2012, they have amended an earlier issuance that prescribed the new contribution rates for different paying sectors for 2012 and 2013.
