Lisa Gade reviews the Lenovo ThinkPad T450s, a 14” business Ultrabook with Intel 5th generation Core i7 and i7 CPUs, an optional full HD 1920 x 1080 matte touch screen and Lenovo’s Bridge Battery system. The “s” version is the lighter T series variant and it also adds the full HD IPS display option that we’d opt for over the 1600 x 900 panel.
This 3.5 lb. laptop packs a lot of ports and has Lenovo’s deeper travel backlit keyboard for a superb typing experience. The updated TrackPoint has dedicated hardware buttons at the top of the trackpad, and the notebook has dual band WiFI 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0 and a optional 4G LTE via a Sierra Wireless card. The ThinkPad T450s has upgradeable RAM, a 2.5” drive bay and M.2 slots.
It has 3 USB 3.0 ports, a mini DisplayPort, 3.5mm audio, VGA, an SD card slot and Gigabit Ethernet. Pricing starts at $845 and goes up to $1,600. It’s available with 4 to 14 gigs of RAM and your choice of a 500 gig HDD or a variety of SSDs.
