Lisa Gade reviews the Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3 unlocked Android smartphone that sells for $249. Unlike most affordable unlocked GSM smartphones sold without contract, the Idol 3 has a full HD display, LTE 4G for the US and a sharp design.
The phone runs Android 5.0 Lollipop on the ocata-core, 64 bit Snapdragon 615 midrange CPU with 2 gigs of RAM and 16 gigs of internal storage.
It has a 5.5", 1920 x 1080 IPS display, dual band WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth, NFC and a GPS. The Idol 3 is slim and light and it has a 2910 mAh battery and a microSD card slot.
It's compatible with GSM carriers like T-Mobile and AT&T, and will not work on Sprint or Verizon.
