The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) suspended 17 players who were involved in the bench-clearing brawl during the game between Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC) and Mapua Institute of Technology on Monday.
The NCAA also placed referees Molly de Luna, Menard Ballecer and Cholo Caoile on indefinite suspension. NCAA commissioner Bai Cristobal said the three will be fined accordingly.
The Mapua Cardinals and the EAC Generals engaged in a free-for-all with just 28.5 seconds to go in their game.
