Kitchen Cures



By abante.com - Nature has provided us with a lot of things we can use to cure our ailments. No need to go to the drugstore for simple problems- just look in the kitchen!

Banana- Aside from being a healthy snack, banana skin can be used against insect bites. Rub the inside of the banana peel against the insect bite until the itching stops.

Turmeric- Aside from being a healthy spice to add to your food, turmeric can be used against acne.

Add a little water to the turmeric powder until it becomes a paste- apply as a mask on your acne.

Wash hands properly after handling turmeric- it might stain your hands or clothing.


Ginger- Ginger is anti nausea. Pregnant women can take ginger candies to prevent morning sickness. If you have sore throat, drink salabat and add honey. A yummy hot drink to soothe your throat.

Chamomile tea- After you drink your chamomile tea, put in a cup and put in the ref. These cold tea bags can be used to soothe tired eyes or to make your eyebags subside.

Baking soda- this simple powder can be used as a household odor absorber. Put a cup of baking soda inside the ref to remove odors. Sprinkle some baking soda in your shoes, socks to absord bad odors.

When doing laundry, to remove bad smells from clothing, add a bit of baking soda in the water while doing laundry.

Garlic is effective for tooth infection because garlic is anti bacterial, anti fungal. In fact, it is also a good supplement against cholesterol. Garlic capsules are available in health food/ Chinese herbal stores.

Cayenne pepper or siling labuyo- Good for digestion, good for the colon.

Olive oil- if you run out of conditioner or moisturizer, a drop of olive oil in your hair or skin will make it smooth again. In fact, there are a lot of new soaps promoting olive oil as their main ingredients.

Honey- it’s good for small wounds because it’s anti septic. Honey is also recommended for coughs. If you don’t have a cough syrup, use honey instead.
