PALACE DISTANCES SELF FROM RULING ON DANDING SHARES

MalacaƱang yesterday distanced itself from the final Supreme Court (SC) decision allowing businessman Eduardo “Danding” Cojuangco Jr. to keep his 20 percent share in San Miguel Corp. (SMC), which was allegedly sourced from coconut levy funds the government is trying to recover.

“We would have to defer to the Office of the Solicitor General (OSG), to what decision they will be taking. They will have to confer with the Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG),” said presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda. [ FULL STORY ]
