TWO weeks after filing tax evasion charges against former Social Economic Secretary and Social Security System president Romulo Neri, the Bureau of Internal Revenue also filed charges against two officials of the Government Service Insurance System for tax evasion.
Charged before the Department of Justice were Esperanza Ocampo and Mario Ramirez. The two officials were the subject of an investigation by the Senate Committee on Finance on Government Owned and Controlled Corporations and Government Financial Institutions of executives who were alleged to have received excessive and unwarranted bonuses and allowances.
