Over 500 metric tons (500,000 kilos) of fish, particularly bangus and tilapia, were affected when another fishkill struck Taal Lake in Talisay and Laurel, Batangas.
Talisay Mayor Zenaida Mendoza said that in Barangay Sampaloc alone, some 375 metric tons of bangus were found floating in the lake where 84 fish cages were affected. Tilapia cultured in fish cages in Barangay Leviste, Laurel town, were also affected by the fishkill.
