CELTICS BEAT KNICKS TO TAKE 3-0 LEAD

MANILA, Philippines – The Boston Celtics took command of their first round best-of-seven series against the New York Knicks after winning Game 3 with the score of 113-96.

Boston now leads 3-0.

The Celtics were led by Paul Pierce’s 38 points. Ray Allen scored 32, while Rajon Rondo set the Celtics' playoff record in assists by dishing out 20. Rondo also had 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Carmelo Anthony was limited to 15 points, after a 42-point performance in Game 2 in Boston. Anthony missed 12 of his 16 shots.

The Knicks, hosting its first playoff game in seven years, missed point guard Chauncey Billups once again. Amare Stoudemire was hampered with back spasms and only scored 7 points on 2 out of 8 shooting.

The Celtics will have the opportunity to close out the series in Game 4 on Sunday at the Madison Square Garden.
