DRAFT IMPEACHMENT CHARGES AGAINST OMBUDSMAN RELEASED

By Lira Dalangin-Fernandez, INQUIRER.net A draft of the Senate committee report containing the six charges against Ombudsman Merceditas Gutierrez was released Sunday. The eight-member legal team of lawmakers that drafted the committee report is expected to submit it to plenary either Monday or Tuesday for the approval of the chamber. At least 94 votes, or one-third of the 283-member chamber, are needed to impeach Gutierrez and send her case to the Senate for trial.
