5 DEAD AS TORNADOS HIT JOLO, DAMAGE ESTIMATED AT P100M

AT LEAST three tornadoes have hit in succession in the town of Jolo on Thursday evening particularly in Barangay Camp Asturias that resulted in flashfloods leaving five people dead, and destroying some P100-million worth of property, the town mayor said on Friday.

Mayor Hussin Amin of Jolo told The Manila Times in a phone interview that among the five casualties in the flashflood, only two were identified—a certain Sappari and Justine Abraham, an infant who will be turning 1-year-old today (February 5).
