Asus ZenBook Pro UX501 Review

Lisa Gade reviews the Asus ZenBook Pro UX501, a slim and light 15.6” laptop for professionals and gamers alike. The UX501 has the ZenBook’s signature swirled aluminum lid and casing and it weighs 5 lbs.

It’s also quite slim at 0.8” (21.3mm) and good looking, but the real attention grabbers here are what you get for $1,500: a 2.6GHz Intel quad core i7-4720HQ (4th gen) CPU, NVIDIA GTX 960M 2 GB GDDR5 dedicated graphics, a fast 512 gig PCIe x4 and 16 gigs of RAM. The laptop has a 4K touch screen with wide viewing angles, dual band Intel 7260 WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0, a backlit keyboard and a 1.2MP webcam. It has a 96 Whr battery. The notebook ships with a slip case, VGA and Ethernet adapters. It has a mini DisplayPort, 3 USB 3.0 ports, HDMI, 3.5mm audio and an SD card slot. We’ll have a separate gaming demo video.
