Dell Venue 8 7000 Review by MobileTechReview

Lisa Gade reviews the Dell Venue 8 7480 8.4” Android tablet with a stunning 2560 x 1600 OLED display. The Dell is just 6mm (0.24”) thick, making it currently the thinnest tablet on the market. The all metal casing, near bezel-less design on three sides and vibrant display really stand out in a sea of same-looking Android tablets with plastic backs.

The Venue 8 7000 series runs on a 2.3 GHz Intel Atom Z3580 quad core 64 bit CPU with Intel HD graphics (rebranded Imagination PowerVR G6430 graphics) and it has 2 gigs of RAM, 16 gigs of storage and a microSD card slot.

The tablet has dual band Intel WiFi 802.11ac and Bluetooth, a front 2MP camera and a rear 8MP camera with 3 lenses as part of the Intel RealSense Depth 3D photography system for added depth of field. It runs a fairly clean Android 4.4 KitKat build and 5.0 Lollipop is coming. The $399 Venue 8 competes with high end tablets like the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4, iPad mini with Retina Display and the NVIDIA Shield tablet.
