MSI Ghost Pro GS60 with NVIDIA GTX 970M Review (VIDEO)

Lisa Gade reviews the MSI Ghost Pro GS60 with NVIDIA GTX 970M 6GB dedicated graphics (model 064). This is a very slim and light 15.6" gaming laptop that doesn’t compromise on performance— it can compete with top 17” full size gaming laptops. The 4.2 lb. Ghost Pro is 0.78” thick and the casing is identical to older Ghost models with a brushed black aluminum lid, Dynaudio speakers and an RGB backlit programmable backlit keyboard.

The notebook runs on the quad core Haswell Core i7-4710HQ 2.5 GHz processor like most gaming laptops, and our model has 16 gigs of RAM, a 128 gig SSD and a 1 terabyte 7200 RPM HDD.The Ghost Pro has a Killer E2200 gigabit Ethernet, Killer N1525 dual band WiFi 802.11ac, HDMI, mini DisplayPort, 3 USB ports and mic/headphone jacks. We look at the matte 2K display (Samsung PLS), and there are 3K and 4K panel options.

If you’re looking for a single laptop that’s great for travel, multimedia, video editing, number crunching and playing the latest 3D games at high or ultra settings, this is our top pick unless long battery life is important.

The Ghost starts around $1,699 for the 860M model and our config sells for $1,899.
