Lisa Gade reviews the Sony Xperia Z3 Android phone with a stylish glass back and aluminum sides. The Z3 has an updated design with rounded corners and it runs on the 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 quad core CPU with Adreno 330 graphics and 32 gigs of storage. We look at the T-Mobile US version that’s identical to overseas models (other than supported LTE bands).
The phone has a very good 20.7MP rear camera with an Exmor RS sensor and Sony G lens, a 2.2MP front camera, a microSD card slot and a 3100 mAh battery. It’s water and dust resistant and can handle submersion to 1 meter depth for 30 minutes. The Z3 has a 5.2” 1920 x 1080 Sony Triluminos IPS display, high quality audio output, dual band WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and a GPS.
It runs Android 4.4 KitKat and will receive an upgrade to Android 5.0 Lollipop. It can also act as a remote play device for the PlayStation 4. It sells for $630 on T-Mobile.
