Richard Baguio Saavedra, a graduate from the Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU), topped the May 2013 Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Licensure Examination with a rating of 96.0 percent given by the Board of Accountancy (BoA) in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo and Legazpi.
He bested other 1,554 successful examinees out of a total of 5,665 examinees who took the Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination given by the Board of Accountancy on May 19, 20, 26, and 27, 2013, the Professional Regulation Commission announced one (1) working day after the last day of examination.
Richard Saavedra was followed by Mikyll Hum Dalimot Narvios of University of San Carlos with a score of 95.43 percent.
A graduate from University of Baguio, Tom Braian Aguilar, obtained the third spot after garnering a rating of 94 percent.
Mr. Leopoldo R. Medina, chairman of the Accountancy Department of the Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU), said in a phone interview that Richard Baguio Saavedra of AdDU Class 2012 also topped the December 2007 Nurses Licensure Examination (NLE). Saavedra that year garnered the top 6 spot with a rating of 86 percent.
Based on the PRC Resolution No. 2010-547 series of 2010, the top performing school for this year’s exam is the DLSU-Manila with 53 passers out of 55 examinees.
Members of the BoA are lawyer Eugene Mateo, Chairman; Doctor Rufo Mendoza, Vice Chairman; Luis CaƱete and Jose Tayag, Jr., PRC said.
The Commission further added that the issuance of Professional Identification Card and Certificate of Registration will start on June 5 to June 7, 2013. It advised that successful examinees “should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.”
