Quezon City is the largest component city of Metro Manila and the most populous city in the Philippines and also the richest city in the country. The city has numerous malls, shopping and entertainment centers.
Most of the national TV stations are based in Q.C. It has its own "Tourist Belt" in Tomas Morato & Timog Avenue area. Places of interest include: the Quezon Memorial Circle, Araneta Center, La Mesa Dam, University of the Philippines, the Wildlife Nature Center and many others.
The city was named after Manuel L. Quezon, President of the Philippines, who founded the city and developed it to replace Manila as the country's capital.
