MANILA, Philippines – A 3-day-old baby was believed to have been kidnapped in a hospital in Quezon City. Ces de los Santos, the mother of baby Sean Gabriel, has already sought help from the police.
In her testimony, she said that at around 4:00am on Tuesday, a lady wearing a doctor's gown came into her room and said she needs to take the baby for some screening tests.
Thinking that the suspect was really a doctor, she gave her baby. But 30 minutes later, when a nurse walked in for the newborn's scheduled bath, de los Santos said a pediatrician took the baby for some screening tests.
"Mga 4 a.m. nakuha niya ang baby ko. Tapos bumaba ‘yung magpapaligo ng 4:30, sabi ko kinuha ng pedia...tapos nu’ng sinabi sa akin na wala kaming ipinadalang pedia. Hayun na, nasaan ang baby ko?" de los Santos said.
A representative of Santa Teresita General Hospital in Quezon City said they are conducting their own investigation. For the meantime, they have sacked their security agency.
The suspect is somewhere between 35 and 40 years old, with short and straight hair, 5 feet 5 inches in height. The suspect took just 10 minutes to take the baby, and later boarded a taxi for her escape.
