Ang Galing Pinoy party Rep. Juan Miguel "Mikey" Arroyo on Friday defended his mother, former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, from critics who called her an icon of corruption and a traitor of the ideals of the EDSA People Power Revolution.
Reacting to a statement that the former President has nothing to contribute to EDSA, the younger Arroyo said: "The spirit of EDSA should be all about magnanimity, unity, faith in God and His teachings. It shouldn't be associated with hatred, divisiveness...Gloating should have have no place in the ceremony.”
