Cebu City halos 6,000 evacuees na mula sa probinsya ng Leyte, Samar

CEBU CITY - Aabot ng halos 3,000 mga evacuees pa mula sa probinsya ng Leyte ang dumating sa lungsod ng Cebu.

Sinasabing ito na ang pinakamalaking grupo ng evacuees na dumating sa Cebu matapos humagupit ang super typhoon Yolanda noong nakaraang linggo kung saan maraming probinsya ng Pilipinas ang sinalanta.

Ang mga nagsilikas ay sakay ng Philippine Navy na Dagupan 551 vessel na mula sa Tacloban City port at dagdag pa rito ang mga sakay ng C-130 plane na dumarating sa Mactan Benito Ebuen Airbase.

Sinasabing ang kakulangan ng pagkain, walang lugar na pagtatrabahuan at takot para sa kanilang kaligtasan ay iilan lang sa kanilang mga rason upang iwan na ang kanilang lupang sinilangan.

Leyte 1st district started posting names of victims survivors on his Facebook account.

We will be posting names of survivors from Typhoon Yolanda. We will update from time-to-time soon as we get the names," he said. His hometown Tacloban City is among the heavily affected areas attracting international media attention as most homes are destroyed and scores of residents are left dead.

President's Statement 11 November 2013

MANILA - President Benigno Aquino on Monday night declared a state of national calamity following the massive devastation caused by super typhoon Yolanda.

The declaration will allow the national government to fast-track delivery of aid and basic services, particularly in typhoon-hit areas in the Visayas.
